Professional direction

I am self- motivated, with professional knowledge in; plant health and breeding, research data analysis, sustainable development, agronomy, farm innovations and geographical information system in Dryland agriculture. My goal is to strive for organizational and personal development to enter the corporate world and use my analytical skills and abilities to better the lives. I strongly recommend for dryland rain-fed agricultural techniques that are simple, efficient and effective in the improvement of livelihood and ensuring food security while restoring the soil quality.

Research content

My research work is focused on implementing a new planting technology that would ensure crop productivity and improved soil sustainability.  My current Ph.D research is based on incorporation of maize biochar C in micro-field rainwater harvesting technique in enhancing ecosystem sustainability. There are total of three experiments; the first objective focuses at the comparative study of maize stover derived biochar and maize stover at different levels. The second objective comprises of varied rates of maize stover biochar C input with the aim of determining the optimum amount of maize stover biochar for improving soil quality and grain yields. The third experiments aims to identify the persistent effect of maize stover biochar C input and maize stover on microbial activities.  

My experience in the previous work and activities enhanced my independent working ability, organizational capacity, time management skills, teamwork skills, and coordination and communication skills and proved myself to be responsible, flexible, hardworking, and innovative.
